Kaboodle Theatre is “…passionate about creating high quality meaningful theatre experiences for young audiences.”
I was asked to create a film for their next touring piece called The Sky Explorers which “is a playful, interactive and multi-sensory theatre experience for children in the EYFS and KS1. It invites the children on a magical journey into a mysterious world in the clouds that is full of surprises and strange creatures.”
Create a film that could be used for marketing the piece.
Ensure it communicated the company’s aims and highlights their commitment to accessible performance.
This was a great experience. It was the first time I had created a film from this perspective – creating a trailer for a show as opposed to for the organisation that has booked it.
On the day we set everything up and then we slowly worked through the piece capturing it in a number of ways. Then another set up for interviews. We filmed everything in a day.
We also set aside some time to get some photographs at each stage that could be used for publicity purposes.
It was very interesting and I am so happy with the outcome. I would love to do something like this again.
